Meet Our Bridal Party!!!
The history of Siobhan ("Shavon") and Choi ("Choy"), as dictated by Choi... "It was Aug 1997, and little Siobhan and Choi were making their way to a brand new school for their first day of Junior High... It didn't take long for these two shy kids to find comfort in other shy people :) Our friendship is built on some of the best things in life: Talking about absolutely nothing at all and still thoroughly enjoying it, Getting lost in the city we've both lived in for over 12 years, Lounging on the shores of a sunny beach all day, The challenge of making it to the bottom of a ski run with everything still intact, Shopping for nothing in particular, Floating the Guadalupe River (minus the wicked burn, of course), Coffee, Thinking we've gotten lost on Oahu before realizing we've just circled the entire island, and Stopping for Mahi Mahi at a North Shore hole-in-the-wall because, "Eh, we're lost anyway." 11 years since Aug '97, and nothing has changed :)
As one of the sweetest and truly sincere people you will ever meet, here are a few things you should know about Siobhan:
1) She can kick your butt in soccer... and run FOREVER. No really, watch out, because she is also a master of tricking people into running races with her (she's tricked me twice, and let's just say I thought I was going to die on the hills of downtown Austin).
2) She loves chocolate!... And will flatter me even when I don't bake the mini flourless chocolate cakes quite long enough... And yes, we still ate them :) Yummy!
3) She's a UT Longhorn through and through! And given her degree in Kinesiology, she can tell you the mechanics of every movement of the human body... in Spanish too!
4) She's an incredible artist with a flare for color, vibe, and fashion. Me, I do black and white (I know, you would never have guessed, LOL).
5) She's selfless and loyal. I will never forget the night she told me, "I'm going with you, because I'm afraid of how badly you'd get lost if you went by yourself..." ;)
That's my Bhan-Bhan!
The history of Jeff and Adam, as dictated by Adam... "Though you may not hear it the night of the wedding, Jeff and I can carry a tune worthy of at least the third or fourth episode of American Idol. Those fateful days of doolie year at USAFA, Jeff and I were dropping the beats in Catholic Choir, and the friendship continued throughout freshman year into the summer we first roomed together. Here we had the male version of Martha Stewart and the male version of Messy College Kid, and somehow we didn't kill each other in the gliders or "red" boxes of death, with M-16s or sharp knives, or through simple, extreme hunger. It was many a night of debauchery and craziness that led to this friendship lasting for years to come... and all the stories worthy of when our kids ask, "Dad, what is college really like?"
When you meet Jeff at the wedding, several questions may go through your head. I will attempt to answer them ahead of time now:
1) Does he always dress that well? Yes. It comes from growing up in Europe and not knowing what 'jeans' were until the Academy.
2) Where does he get that excellent posture? Simple. You'd be amazed what pulling a 16g, 1,100 knot up-side down loop-d-loop in a T-38 can do to relieve lower back problems.
3) Is Rudy's BBQ his favorite food? Let's just say Martha Stewart's got nothing on Jeff except a mug shot. Stand-by for his cookbook, "My Kitchen Is At Ground Level, But the Tastes Are Sky High."
4) Does he dance? Yes, yes, and yes. So, ladies, be ready! And yes, he's available for everything from blind dates to arranged marriages.
5) Did he practice that speech in front of a mirror? All I've got to say is that we had English 411 together, during which he re-defined the word "eloquent." But his English skills are nothing spectacular compared to his ability to calculate Lift over Drag thanks to his degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
That's right folks, Jeff really is the "Man."
